It is essential that teams plan and prepare for emergency situations on and off the floor. Athlete medical information should be kept confidential in a secure folder or binder, and be easily available for reference if required. All staff should have a clear plan of action and response of team staff roles (Charge Person/Call Person) for unpredictable situations such as an injury, medical emergency, or safety situation. Be aware of facility AEDs as well as their integrity (notify facilities if service is needed) , fire alarms / extinguishers, exits and ensure your First Aid kit is intact, available at all times and restocked as needed.
