Season Update
The Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council (GELC) voted earlier this week to suspend any game play for the 2021 season. We know that the new restrictions may last longer than the anticipated and that there are several unknows about what the future holds. As a result many most clubs have or will close their season down for all forms of play.
The Raiders Executive Board remain steadfast and are determined to provide programming once Alberta Government Restrictions allow as individual clubs may provide development programing once guidelines allow.
The Raiders Executive have decided to cancel ALL future payments for our members, however we are not going to cancel your registration. Our intention is to continue with our skill sessions and some type of game play if and when allowed. If the province does not open sports back up you will be out no costs, if we do open back up you have the opportunity to play the rest of the season for free. (This is not open to new or opted out registrations).
We see this as a chance to make a significant difference in our community during the COVID-19 Pandemic. This is a solid link between children's mental health and physical activity and even though we are restricted in sport participation this year, we are committed to offering programing and activity to our members.
Our goal for this year has always been to be there for our athletes, get sticks in their hands and provide an outlet for them to be active, have social interaction and most importantly have fun. We hope that you all understand and support our decision. The Raiders registrar will be working in the coming week to cancel the upcoming payments and to make refunds for anyone that has paid for the season in full for the respective portion of the season.
