Why Hockey Players Should Consider Lacrosse...

Hockey players should consider lacrosse for many reasons.

Lacrosse and Hockey are similar sports in many ways.  As with all team sports, athletes build self-esteem, respect, integrity, and learn fair play.  Participating in multi-sports, and on different teams, also builds new friendships and creates lifelong memories for our athletes.

Both sports are played in a 5-player format and allow players to continue building skills in both offensive and defensive positions, learning to play as a two-way player with fast transitions.

Lacrosse is a fun, fast-paced sport that can spark a new fire and drive in hockey players.  Athletes build endurance and conditioning by using different muscle groups than on ice, which also reduces muscle strain and injury risk.  The speed of the game reinforces players to keep their heads up and to be more aware of their surroundings.  Lacrosse requires quickness and agility around the net and increases hand-eye coordination, leading to improved puck handling on the ice.

Players of all fitness levels and abilities can compete in lacrosse.  Our female lacrosse programs in the Edmonton area are among the best in the province.
